Whether you live in a downtown penthouse or a classic detached home in Armour Heights, a custom staircase can make a powerful statement. At Modern Stairs Plus, we specialize in modern staircase design tailored to your North York space and interior style.
Our process includes 3D renderings, layout planning, and material consultation — allowing you to explore everything from floating stair designs to wood-and-glass hybrids. We blend creativity with engineering know-how to deliver staircases that are safe, stylish, and truly unique.
Each design is fully customized and built to enhance your home’s layout and architectural tone.
Our expert installers bring your staircase vision to life with clean, precise work and full attention to detail. At Modern Stairs Plus, we handle interior staircase installation throughout North York for both renovations and new construction.
We begin with accurate measurements, confirm layout integration, and manage each step of the process — from structural support to railing alignment. Whether your project is a full redesign or a simple system replacement, we ensure your staircase is properly aligned, secure, and beautifully finished.
We work efficiently, respect your home or job site, and deliver premium craftsmanship on every install.
Metal railings offer the perfect blend of strength, style, and modern elegance. In North York homes and commercial spaces, they’re a top choice for clients seeking bold, durable railing systems.
At Modern Stairs Plus, we fabricate custom metal railings in stainless steel, aluminum, and wrought iron — with designs ranging from minimalist horizontal bars to detailed ornamental patterns. Our in-house team ensures each piece is measured, built, and installed for a perfect fit.
Metal railings are ideal for stairs, balconies, and porches, providing safety and aesthetic appeal in equal measure.
Oak treads bring natural grain and warmth to a steel staircase. Their colour and finish can be selected with the surrounding flooring, doors and other wood features in mind.
Consider the complete combination before choosing individual finishes. A tread sample viewed beside the flooring and railing finish can help you decide whether you prefer a close match or a deliberate contrast. Tread dimensions and attachment details also need to suit the stair structure.
Glass railings are the go-to choice for homeowners and designers looking to create openness, brightness, and modern appeal. In North York’s newer condos and custom homes, they’ve become a signature feature — and for good reason.
We install tempered glass railing systems with your choice of frameless, semi-framed, or fully framed configurations. Available hardware finishes include matte black, stainless steel, and brushed aluminum to complement your interior.
Glass railings are perfect for staircases, lofts, and mezzanines, giving you a clear, uninterrupted view while maintaining safety and style.
Floating staircases are a bold design feature that adds sophistication and architectural interest to your home. With their open risers and hidden supports, they create a minimalist, modern look that’s perfect for North York’s stylish interiors.
Modern Stairs Plus designs and installs custom floating stair systems using steel stringers, wood or metal treads, and a range of railing options — including glass and metal. Each system is carefully engineered for safety and structural integrity.
Ideal for open-concept layouts, floating stairs bring elegance and airiness to any space.
Contemporary railings emphasize simplicity, clean lines, and high-performance materials — and they’re a natural fit for North York’s modern homes. We offer sleek railing systems in metal, glass, and wood that elevate any staircase without overpowering the space.
Choose from cable systems, vertical bars, frameless glass, or hybrid materials — all customized to match your design goals. Our contemporary railings are precision-built and installed to meet safety standards while enhancing your home’s overall look.
If your staircase is worn, outdated, or no longer matches your home’s style, a stair renovation can make a dramatic difference. At Modern Stairs Plus, we specialize in residential stair renovations throughout North York — transforming ordinary stairs into stunning architectural features.
Whether you need new railings, updated treads, or a completely redesigned layout, we offer solutions tailored to your space and aesthetic. Our team can modernize traditional stairs, restore original woodwork, or integrate new materials like glass and metal.
We work in everything from historic homes to upscale condos, always delivering precision, style, and code-compliant results.
North York is home to a wide range of commercial properties — from office buildings and healthcare facilities to retail centres and multi-unit developments. These spaces need stair and railing systems that are durable, compliant, and visually appealing.
Modern Stairs Plus provides commercial stair solutions using steel, concrete, and engineered wood, paired with railing systems in metal, glass, or combination materials. Our designs meet Ontario Building Code and accessibility standards for public and private spaces.
We work closely with architects, general contractors, and property managers to meet tight timelines and deliver long-lasting results.
When standard solutions won’t do, custom fabrication is the only way to go. At Modern Stairs Plus, we build every stair system in-house using precision equipment and premium materials.
Our fabrication services include custom-cut stringers, treads, railings, and posts — designed to fit your space exactly and finished to match your interior design. Whether you’re building a curved central staircase or a compact stair for a narrow layout, we fabricate everything to spec.
This custom approach ensures superior fit, finish, and long-term reliability in any North York home or business.
